Bomba smiled, and sprung lightly from the window sill onto the floor of the house.

The inside of the apartment was exactly as she had remembered it. The carpets were soft, and cotton white. There was a large chair in the center of the room, with a basket of yarn and knitting needles close at hand. In the corner was a large pillow with lace frills, Bomba's bed for when she slept here. An old woman was bent over a shelf of books, running her finger over the spines. Bombalurina let out a loud meow, to let her know she was here.

Mrs. Peu turned around, and saw her beloved red cat standing by the window. "Hello, darling!" She cooed gently, and hobbled her way over to the beautiful cat, Jinx.

She bent over, wincing a bit, and scooped Jinx into her arms, smiling when she purred happily. "How are you, darling, I haven't seen you since- Well, what do we have here?"

Mrs. Peu had spotted another cat sitting on the windowsill- a silver striped tabby, looking nervous, and somewhat out of place. A curious smile spread across her old and wrinkled features. "Jinx! You brought a friend...Come here, little one...I won't hurt you..."

She put Jinx down on the floor, and stretched her hand out to the second cat, who was obviously a male.

Munkus watched as Bomby jumped inside and approached an older female. She was immediately picked up and seemed happy to see this woman as he had been to see his family. He also watched her carefully as she extended her hand to him and called to him, saying it was okay. He looked to Bomby before entering the apartment and slinking low to the ground until he was in sniffing range of her outstretched hand.

Munkus carefully sniffed her hand and didnt sense any danger. he glanced over to his queen who was watching him. He eased his sance a bit and relaxed as this woman didnt seem dangerous to him. He nuzzled her finger a bit and allowed himself to purr.

Bomba smiled widely as Munkus pressed himself into her Human's palm. He liked her! She was almost certian that she would like him just as much.

Mrs. Peu smiled her crinkly old smile. "There you are..."

She trailed a wrinkled finger along the cat's head, and down his back. "I like your taste in men, Jinx...He is very handsome."

She laughed, and scooped Jinx up again. "I'll call him Adonis...What do you think, Jinx? He looks like an Adonis to me..."

Munkus allowed the nice woman to rub his head and down his back. He liked the feeling and couldnt help but purr aloud. he looked to see Bomby smiling and as she was lifted again, he watched with interest as they discussed what to call him. Adonis? Oh well.

Munkus waited for his mate to be returned to him and continued to purr as he waited. He kept his eyes locked on her and when she looked, he was smiling back.

Bombalurina rubbed her head gently against Munkus, purring softly. “It’s a nice name…” she murmured. “It suits you…”

She looked up at Mrs. Peu, and mewled loudly. Mrs. Peu smiled understandingly, gave Bomba a last pat on the head, and left the room. “I told you that she would like you.”

Munkus smiled at Bomby, which he seemed to be doing a lot since she told him she cared, and returned the purr. He looked at her and nodded. "That you did. She is very nice." He watched the door Mrs. Peu left through and then looked back to his crimson queen. "You really think Adonis sounds like me?"

Bomba smiled, and nipped him playfully on the ear. "Of course, dear...As long as you don't tell anyone about Jinx!"

She laugh, and leapt light off the window sill, landing on an armchair near a corner. She curled up, and prepared herself for a possible nap.

Munkus ducked his head as Bomby nipped him on the ear. He looked at her smiled. "My lips are sealed." He watched her leap up into an armchair and curl up to take a nap. He wasnt sure if he should stay on the floor or join her. He had never gotten this close with Demeter. He was treading new ground.

He moved over to the chair and stood to his full length and peeked over the edge at Bomby. "Good night...Bomby." He watched her with unmoving eyes as she looked so beautiful to him. he was still in shock to be with her now.

Bombalurina opened a lazy eye to see Munkus sitting uncertainly beside her. “You can lie down if you want…I don’t mind…”
As she closed her eyes again, Bomba was aware of Munkus watching her closely. She blushed, wondered what, or if he was waiting for something.

Munkus was nervous for some reason. Earlier he didnt think about anything, he just pulled her close and was okay but now...had something changed? No...he was just not wanting to mess up this relationship. He was happy with her and he hoped she was with him. He nodded and laid down next to the crimson queen. As he lay, he watched her with a curious expression. I wonder what she is thinking right now.

In a hushed tone, Munkus spoke. "Bomby...no...its nothing. Sorry." He then closed his eyes but kept his ears pointed in her direction.

He opened his eyes and lifted his head. He focused his eyes on hers. A smile formed on his face. "Oh its nothing really. I just wanted to say...that I love you. Thats all." He returned the cheek rubbing and ourred out loud. "I also wanted to say that I am the happiest I have ever been...with you."

After saying what was on his mind, Munkus looked around the room and tried to imagine what Bomby's human did in her life. There didnt appear to any children around. Was she alone here and thats why Bomby likes it here? He had a feeling of ease and comfort here. he thought to himself that this place suited her and could understand why she would come here to get away from the yard. "Hey...Bombalurina. HOw long have you had this human? I hardly ever see you leave from the yard and was just curious I guess."

Bomba lifted her head sleepily, and yawned. "Mmm...I dunno...I've been with her as long as I can remember....I mean, I only come to see her when I know that no one will miss me...I don't want the others to know about it...Tugger was always saying that having a Human was for sissies...I don't really care what he thinks now, but a lot of my friends think the same thing."

She stretched lazily, and rubbed her head against Munkus's. "I don't really suppose that matters now, does it? I mean...I have you..."

Munkus was mesmerized by the sound of Bombalurina laughing. He began to laugh as well but then looked at her seriously. "You didnt hear that from me...it stays between us...right?" He smiled at his queen and couldnt take his eyes off of her. "You are so beautiful when you smile. I cant believe that I never took notice before. I must have been blind."

A scarlet almost as deep as her fur color flushed Bomba's cheeks. "Beautiful? Me? I'm not so sure..."

She lay her head on her paws. "I'm not quite so pretty...I mean, Cassandra is much more beautiful then I am...And Demeter always got the looks in our family...I just learned to dance well to make up for it!" She giggled softly to herself.

"Dont be so modest...you are the most beautiful queen I have ever layed eyes on. I just never allowed myself to notice before. I was scared being with a queen would interfere with my protecting the tribe. I guess it was my overwhelming sense of duty." Munkus said to her as he gazed into her eyes and smiled. He even reddened a bit as he mentioned his personality flaw to her.

She though it was adorable, his blush. She giggled, and rubbed her head affectionately against his.

As Munkus was enjoying this moment with Bombalurina, his ears began to twitch as if someone somewhere was talking about him. He was a bit unnerved by this and looked towards the window they had entered by.

After a few minutes had passed, he turned back to his queen and he was no longer smiling but instead he looked at her with doubt in his eyes. He reached up to his cheek and placed a paw on it. It stung even though it wasnt bleeding. "Is Demeter right about me? Am I...no...I dont know..."

Bombalurina looked at Munkus with concern etched across her face. It was only at the moment that she noticed the long red gash along Munkus’s cheek. “Munkus!” She cried, leaping to her feet, “What happened?!”

Munkus was at ease here and was sleeping comfortably when he heard his name. He slowly opened his eyes and immediately smiled at the sight of his crimson queen. He looked into her eyes and then yawned slightly and covered his mouth with a paw.

"Mmm....sorry. I was sleeping so good. Is something wrong? What did I miss?"

Feeling Bomby rubbing herself closer against his side made him purr out loud and he smiled. "I guess we had better but....I could get used to this kind of life. It is very tempting,"

Munkus stood and rubbed his cheek against hers and then stretched his whole body and then flexed his paws revealing his claws. Once he was done, he looked at the window and then back to Bomby. "Should you see your human before we leave? To....you know...say goodbye."

She smiled and leapt lightly off the chair, beckoning for Munkus to follow her into the kitchen.

The old woman was bustling around the kitchen, preparing dinner for herself when she heard a loud mewl from behind her. She turned and saw her cat, Jinx, standing there, looking expectant.

"Ah....Are you leaving, my dear? Well, I hope you will come back soon. You know how I hate it when you disappear!"

She gave the cat a last pat on her head, and nodded kindly to the tabby behind her. "You look like a reliable one. You see to it that you two return soon, all right?"

Etcetra crawled her way through the window that had been left ajar, and motioned for Tugger to follow her. The room was now deserted, and Bombalurina and Munkustrap were nowhere to be seen.

Munkus looked up to the sweet old lady and meowed in response to her statement. he was happy again and it only took one human female to remind him that he was truly alive.

He gave Bomby a glance before leaveing the two of them alone and returned to the room from before and noticed that they had company.

"What are you two doing here?"

Munkus glanced back towards the room he had come from and then back to Etcetra and Tugger.

"What's going on?"

Etcetera swung down from the window sill, and landed next to Munkustrap. "Where in the world have you been?! We need you back at the Junkyard! Alonzo's goingcrazy, and we need someone sane to watch over the Junkyard while someone goes to rescue Demeter! By the way…Where’s Bomba?”

Bomba simply stared between Tugger and Etcetra, her eyes wide as saucers. How had they found her secret home? Her refuge, her hiding place! Of course, Tugger was the biggest blabber mouth in the entire Junkyard- There would be no chance of peace and quiet anymore.

"Oh, really? Just worried? Pretty lame excuse to invade a Queen's private home."

Tugger looked at Bomby and realized that he was on deadly ground and took a few steps back. He knew he had invaded a place that was sacred to her and lowered his eyes. His usual swagger completely gone.

When Etcetra spoke up, he looked back to her and then to Bomby to see her reaction.

Munkus turned to face his queen and prepared to restrain her when Etcetra's words hit him. he dropped his paws to his sides and lowered his gaze.

"I am not sure rescue is what she wants. As far as coming back...we were actually on our way before you arrived."

His eyes drifted back to Bombalurina's face and settled on her eyes. He tried to smile but he was having trouble. His heart was heavy.

Bomba was on the urge of preparing for a fight when she heard Etcetra's words. The little kitten was right...They couldn't hide in a fantasy world forever.

"...Alright...But we're going to have to have some sort of a plan. We can't just waltz into Macavity's lair and ask for her back! He'll kill us all..."

No truer words were ever spoken. Macavity would kill them or him. He looked at his queen and then he decided to pay his father a visit.

"Tugger...you and Etcetra head back home. Bomby and I will go see our father. He will know what to do."

He slowly moved his paw to hers and gave it a gentle squeeze. His eyes were full of doubt but he also knew whatever he would face...it would be with her by his side.

"Lets get going."
